Kate & Matt- Real Wedding

Ashley Wood Farm, Fonthill Bishop.

Kate and Matt’s glorious Autumnal wedding was held at Ashley Wood Farm in Fonthill Bishop last September.

Ashley Wood Farm is a beautiful barn nestled into the amazing countryside that surrounds the Fonthill estate. With the best-looking chickens and roosters wandering openly around the space, it’s a venue where you hire it for the weekend and you can do whatever you want there. This was a perfect choice for Kate and Matt who wanted a fun filled beer themed, vintage/industrial wedding full of live music, dancing and crazy golf.

Kate was not afraid to use colour and chose olive green dresses for her bridesmaids and red and brown suits for the groomsmen. This tied in beautifully with all the vintage brown and green bottles they had collected for table centerpieces and contrasted well with the Autumnal colours that they wanted in their floral décor. Being that they were going with a beer themed wedding – the decor was primarily bottles and used beer kegs which were stationed around as plant stands. Dried Hops was therefore an essential ingredients for the arrangements.

Kate and Matt wanted a floral feature for them to say their vows under but also wanted something that could be used to frame the top table once the ceremony was over. Originally, I was going to create a garland that could be moved from an arch shape to go across the back wall, however I eventually decided this wouldn’t create the thickness required to frame the space (I go on about it constantly but proportions are important when it comes to floral design!) so in the end we settled on an asymmetric archway that tied in perfectly with the vintage/industrial feel going on. This archway was used so well throughout the whole day as well as a space to get married underneath and frame the top table, it was also used for their very fun looking band to perform infront of during the evenings festivities.

This wedding was all about those small details. Kate and Matt put so much effort into sourcing leather sofas, armchairs and rugs to turn one of the barns into their very own pub space. Accessorized with personal vintage treasures, more beer kegs and personalized coasters it really worked at creating a cosy pub vibe as well as filling the space effectively.

And well no wedding march is complete without a brass band playing as you walk down the aisle. Congratulations Kate & Matt..
